During one of the periods in my life where I was feeling down. A dear friend of mine recommended I create a personal hall of fame. Of course I looked at him as if he were crazy. He explained to me that a personal hall of fame is a list of your personal heroes, people who have qualities you want to emulate. Begrudgingly, I took his advice and began collecting biographies of people who have impacted my life in one way or another. What I learned was that these pillars of moral strength had hard times also. I also found that many of them had character flaws which they had to overcome. This really helped me to realize what traits I wanted to develop in myself, and which character flaws to avoid.
